WARREN, Mich. The all-new Chevrolet Malibu enters a market crowded with worthy competitors. Some, like Chrysler Cirrus/Dodge Stratus, are new to the automotive scene. Others, like Toyota Camry, are established products that have seemingly become permanent fixtures on the list of America’s top selling cars.

The good news: Malibu has a strong competitive product story. In developing the 1997 Chevrolet Malibu, designers and engineers took a step away from computers and clay models, and went to the customer to create a car in tune with the wants and needs of America’s most informed and discerning customers. In doing so, and by carefully measuring and benchmarking the competition, Chevrolet has created a product that can pass the test of even the choosiest families.

Here’s how Chevrolet’s new family sedan stacks up with the competition.
